Deepening Work with Children, Adolescents and Parents: Dilemmas, Challenges and Opportunities

The Southeastern Child Analytic Consortium, co-sponsored by the New Orleans Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center and the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute, is offering a seminar for the 2013-2014 academic year.   

The first semester will focus on early sessions with children, adolescents, and parents.  The emphasis will be on ways of listening to  communications in early sessions through a psychoanalytic lens, and on making early interventions in a way that facilitates in-depth work and a possible analytic process.  Faculty members will present detailed process material from early sessions in the initial weeks, and it is hoped that participants will discuss their own cases as the semester progresses.

In the second semester, faculty will present detailed process material from analyses with children and adolescents.   The purpose will be to expose participants to the theory and technique of child analytic work.

These seminars will be offered via televideo.   Participants will be given instructions for downloading the necessary software.

These seminars qualify for CEUs and CMEs.   The Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute will provide instructions for obtaining continuing education credit.  

The fee for the seminar is $500 per semester or $1000 for the year for those participants requesting CEUs or CMEs.  The fee is $300 per semester or $600 for the year for those participants not requesting CEUs or CMEs.    


Participants can enroll in one or both semesters.
